My practice as a visual artist focuses on unravelling complex information embodied in different forms, definitive or non-definitive, through tangible visual representations such as storytelling. Within my practice in painting, I am drawn to the symbolic representations of my subject matters, which are elevated visual elements from my own life experiences, or the experience of those who are familiar to me. Through my work, I strive to engage the interplay of visual metaphor with reasoning of the world, creating narratives and symbolism that could connect with the viewers. I consider my art practice draws a balance between the creative and logical rationales. It is influenced my cultural background and experience of learning painting throughout childhood to teenage years, together with my formal studies in the science underpinning graphical representations.
